There is nothing that makes me feel older than when someone who I remember as a young child starts working at our store. This is the case with Mary Ives Giblin. When she emailed me a few months back about doing her Episcopal High School externship at the stores, I jumped at the chance. We’ve had multiple young women from this program over the years and it has always worked out great for them and us.
Here is the thing about these young women: they are so mature, kind, eager to work, and, oh yes, they all seem to have amazing style. Last year when our intern arrived I had to up my own fashion game.
Having them at the store is such a breath of fresh air, and did I mention they know what more about social media than any of us? In the fast-evolving world of retail, this is a real value-add.
I figured since I have so many folks coming in asking about what to get for graduation, why don’t I have an actual grad tell us what she would want?
