I wish I had a dollar for every time it’s been raining out and I go to my closet and realize I don’t own an actual raincoat. I have water resistant coats galore but no real-deal, no-kidding raincoat. So, I do what most moms of a 10 and 12-year-old would do: I wear one of their pullover coats from Land’s End or my mom recently brought me my old Worthington High School Lacrosse vintage rain pullover from the 80s.
Now, there is nothing wrong with either of these things, but I do own a clothing store so I should be able to do better than that, right?
The other day I was leaving Mind the Mat and Ali Helmuth had on the cutest actual raincoat. I said: “that is so cute.” She immediately chirped “it is Stutterheim, you should carry it.” The thing is, I had already written an order for this brand, twice! But I never followed up and placed it either time.
So, finally, the other day, as I was running around Old Town totally drenched, I hit the proverbial wall and decided I have had enough! It is time to finally place that order!
Stutterheim was founded a decade ago by Alexander Stutterheim in Stockholm. He was going through a barn and found his grandfather’s old raincoat. It was heavy, durable, timeless, and the inspiration for the first coat of the collection. Now the coats are a little more updated and refined, and there is more than one style. And they have finally arrived at The Hive!
Right now, we have one color of three styles, but we can order other colors if you like and we will be getting more color blocked varieties delivered later this spring.
If you are like me, and just really need an actual raincoat, this is the one you need!
